This is an exciting opportunity for a Band Occupational Therapist to join our service at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. Experience of working in orthopaedics is essential as you will mange and and be responsible for a complex clinical caseload providing specialist care to a wide variety of orthopaedic patients. You will provide significant leadership, supervision and service development responsibilities within the team. This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated, innovative and well established team. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and forwarding thinking occupational therapist. We have a world-class reputation for teaching and research and within the wider Therapies department, you will benefit from access to a large team of specialist musculoskeletal therapists and clinical specialists.
Main duties of the job
·A Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist, to support the Service Manager to provide leadership to the service and provide professional and clinical support to all services and team members (Orthopaedic Inpatients, Pre-operative Assessment Clinic, Patient Education Sessions, Outreach Service, Rheumatology and Prosthetics team).
·To assist and deputise for the Service Manager with the management of the Occupational Therapy service.
·This post holder will be an autonomous practitioner, taking a lead in co-ordinating and providing a highly specialist occupational therapy service to patients within the service.
·To take responsibility for the management of a designated caseload within the service.
·To be responsible for the development, co-ordination, delivery and monitoring of the Occupational Therapy service in collaboration with the Occupational Therapy Service Manager.
·To provide clinical expert advice, education and teaching to other therapists as a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist.
·To demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills and clinical reasoning when assessing and treating patients with orthopaedic conditions. Providing highly specialised assessment, treatment and advice to patients and their carers within the Occupational Therapy Service.
·To ensure a high standard of Occupational Therapy care, promoting and representing the profession.
