Exceptional patient-centred care is at the heart of everything we do. As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you’ll help patients feel good by providing clear advice and a wide range of dispensing services.
To provide excellent patient care, you will work across the healthcare counter and dispensary, focusing on patient needs. This role offers a great opportunity to develop your pharmacy career and make a difference in patients' lives.
What you’ll be doing day to day.
Providing health advice through focused conversations with patients, delivering clear and accurate answers.
Your duties will include:
1. Tailoring conversations to ensure customers leave feeling informed and confident about their healthcare needs.
2. Handling technical dispensary tasks such as ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
3. Ensuring compliance with legal and professional requirements and guidance in Boots.
4. Engaging with GPs and practice teams to promote services and products.
5. Ensuring efficient dispensary operations and minimizing losses.
What you’ll need to have.
Applicants should have an NVQ Level 2 equivalent in Pharmacy Services and previous experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser. Completion of a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent is required; training will be supported if not already completed.
Opportunities for further development include achieving NVQ Level 3 (QCF) in Pharmacy Services to register with GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician, potentially leading to an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) role. Compensation and benefits will reflect your professional development.
