The Opportunity
This opportunity has arisen due to increased project demands and expanded night?shift activity, offering you the chance to join a leading infrastructure contractor with strong safety culture, modern delivery methods, and a collaborative project environment. As Night Site Supervisor, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery of work, coordinating subcontractors, overseeing plants and materials, and maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. This role is ideal for someone who values accountability, enjoys leading people, and is motivated by achieving results on complex civil engineering projects.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Supervising and taking overall responsibility for the performance and delivery of a small or medium project site team during night shift operations.
Ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environmental management, and providing essential information to enable compliance with statutory and legal requirements.
Managing, ordering and coordinating delivery, storage and maintenance of all materials, plant, and equipment on site.
Directing, coaching and supporting site teams and subcontractors to meet contractual obligations and production targets.
Working with the Site Management Team to support programme development, method statements, briefings, and safe systems of work.
Leading regular inspections to ensure work meet safety, quality, and compliance standards, and reporting to senior management.
Ensuring toolbox talks, task briefings and method statements are communicated effectively to all site personnel.
Collaborating with HSQE teams on project IMS plans and managing close?call reporting, safety observations, and incident investigations.
Supporting project administration: attending project meetings, maintaining documentation, inputting into audits, and capturing lessons learned.
Carrying out any additional duties consistent with seniority, including supporting collaborative working practices and site?specific role accountabilities.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
CSCS Card
SMSTS or SSSTS
Driving Licence
Safety Critical Medical
Confined Spaces Medium Risk
TEEPS/TSTS/Tunnel safety
First Aider It’s great if you also have the following
Bronze Commander
ERT Leader
RTAC (Can be provided by the project if necessary)
The setting for the role
You will be working on a civil engineering project site environment as part of a collaborative team that includes foremen, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives. Night operations require strong autonomy, clear communication and an ability to maintain safe and productive working conditions with reduced daytime support. This is a highly visible, hands?on site leadership position where your influence directly shapes the success and safety of the night shift.
