Looking for a role where you can truly make a difference, every single day?
We’re working with a welcoming primary school in Slough that’s on the lookout for a calm, caring SEMH Teaching Assistant. This isn’t a sit-back kind of role. It’s hands-on, heart-led, and incredibly rewarding.
You’ll be supporting pupils who need a little extra help with their social, emotional and mental health. Think relationship-building, steady encouragement, and being that consistent adult they can rely on.
What your day might look like
Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups with SEMH needs
Helping children regulate emotions and feel safe in the classroom
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Creating a positive, structured environment where pupils can thrive
Celebrating the small wins, because they matter (a lot)
What the school is hoping for
Experience working with children with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs
A calm, patient approach, even on the tricky days
Someone who builds trust naturally and leads with kindness
Confidence in managing behaviour positively and consistently
A genuine passion for helping children feel understood and supported
Why this role stands out
Supportive leadership team who’ve got your back
Training opportunities to build your SEMH skillset
A school that truly values its support staff, you won’t feel like “just a TA” here
A chance to be part of something bigger, helping children re-engage with learning and life
