Job Summary Could you be at the forefront of the fight for fairness, accountability and reform in the energy market? Ofgem is looking for a Senior Policy Manager to join us and help shape the rules that hold energy companies to account, ensuring the system works for consumers, not just suppliers. Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. We’re at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers, especially vulnerable people. We’re offering a permanent role with a wide-reaching remit that touches the heart of the UK’s energy system. You’ll be a pivotal part of a fast-moving and highly collaborative team that drives improvements in the regulatory framework to ensure energy rules can be enforced clearly and fairly. It’s an opportunity to shape national policy with tangible impact. Working at the intersection of policy and enforcement, you’ll explore ways to improve outcomes for consumers by addressing gaps in compliance and strengthening our powers of regulation. It’s a high-impact role where you’ll influence how regulatory frameworks evolve in response to market risk, innovation and behaviour. Job Description We’re looking for someone with a track record of developing policy in complex environments, ideally with a focus on enforceability or regulatory design. You’ll bring strong analytical and communication skills, the confidence to lead projects through ambiguity, and the ability to influence decisions at a strategic level. In return, you’ll join a mission-led organisation that plays a central role in energy reform. We offer flexible working options, generous annual leave, and access to excellent Civil Service pension arrangements, all within a supportive environment that values collaboration and purposeful leadership. We have a critical purpose to develop policies that empower effective enforcement, ensuring energy suppliers meet their obligations and consumers are protected. Join us in helping to create a system that is robust, transparent and built to serve. Read on and find out more.
