We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a growing infrastructure contractor delivering projects across the water and wastewater sector. This is a key role responsible for the successful delivery of clean water, wastewater, and associated civil engineering schemes from pre-construction through to completion.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in water infrastructure projects, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage programmes, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of water sector projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with clients, design teams, commercial staff and site teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the end-to-end delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
* Lead project teams including site management, engineers and subcontractors
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards
* Develop and manage project programmes, budgets and resources
* Administer contracts (NEC preferred), including change control and risk management
* Liaise with clients, stakeholders, designers and regulators
* Oversee procurement and subcontractor performance
* Produce regular progress, financial and programme reports
* Identify and manage project risks and opportunities
* Support continuous improvement and best practice across projects
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience as a Project Manager within the water or wastewater sector
* Background in civil engineering or utilities contracting
* Strong understanding of water frameworks and delivery environments
* Experience managing programmes, costs and subcontractors
* Knowledge of NEC contracts
* Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
* SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid
* Experience working on clean water, wastewater, pumping stations or treatment works
* Chartered status or working towards (ICE, CIOB, etc.)
