As a Maintenance Engineer at our Braintree site, you\'ll play a vital role in supporting automation systems and general site infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance through a mix of preventative and reactive maintenance.
Responsibilities
* Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and fast response to breakdowns
* PLC fault finding and working with sensors, metal detectors, conveyors, belts, motors, bearings
* Supporting site automation and mechanical handling systems
* Monitoring and reporting through the site CMMS system
* Liaising with and overseeing external contractors
* Adhering to and enforcing Permit to Work and health & safety protocols
* Contributing to team discussions and decision-making on efficiency improvements
What You\'ll Need
* Time-served apprenticeship and recognised electrical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.)
* Experience working in automated or distribution/warehouse environments preferred
* Competence in: PLC fault finding
* Conveyors, belts, and drive systems
* Sensors and metal detectors
* Hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, and bearings
* Basic mechanical skills (fitting, fault finding)
* Comfortable using IT systems and CMMS platforms
* Good spoken and written English
* Desirable: knowledge of refrigeration systems, food hygiene, and H&S practices
