Lecturer in Brickwork

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: £26,772 - £40,052 per annum
Annual Leave: 42 days per annum (excluding bank holidays and up to 3 additional discretionary days over the Christmas/New Year period)
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality, engaging and challenging teaching and learning, employing innovative and interactive teaching methods to ensure stretch, challenge, and engagement of students of all ages and abilities
* Lead, coordinate and support course activities to achieve curriculum area targets, including collation and submission of financial claims to appropriate funding bodies and partners as required
* Plan, prepare and update all relevant teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans and online learning materials using Canvas
* Facilitate academic tutorials, contribute to marketing, promotion, recruitment and interviewing of students and participate in open events, school tasters and enrolment events
* Assess, monitor and record timely feedback to students; lead IV/IQA processes and contribute to quality assurance processes and curriculum design within the area
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the subject specialism by attending appropriate professional/vocational updating
* Attend meetings and communicate with colleagues within the curriculum area as and when required
* Coordinate and support course activities that will support the achievement of curriculum area targets, accurately carry out the qualification completion process within the departmental systems in a timely manner
Qualifications
* Specialism in Brickwork at level 3 and above
* Certification of Education/PGCE or willingness to work towards
* GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
* Experience working within Further/Higher education
* Experience of course leadership
* Ability to work as a professional team member and liaise with tutors, employers, awarding bodies and other agencies
* Ability to work flexibly, including evening and weekend work
