Job Purpose:
The Technician role involves conducting a wide range of structural investigations and testing procedures to support client projects. Technicians ensure accurate data collection and contribute to the smooth execution of site operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform testing and investigations, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), coring, and Schmidt hammer tests.
* Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations on-site.
* Collaborate with engineers and site managers to achieve project goals.
* Record and report field data for further analysis.
* Mentor Trainee Technicians where applicable.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
* Proficiency in operating testing equipment.
* Experience working in field-based environments.
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Strong interest in civil engineering and field operations.
* Ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills.
* Willingness to travel and stay overnight as required.
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
* Full UK driving license.
* Basic knowledge of testing equipment or site operations.
* Certifications in NDT or related techniques.
* Experience with data entry and report preparation.
