The starting salary for this position is £36,873 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
We currently have two positions available within the team:
1. 1x full-time, permanent position
2. 1x 12-month fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity to cover maternity leave
We're excited to be recruiting two new Senior Travel & Assessment Officers to join our fantastic Surrey School Travel and Assessment Team (SSTAT) based in either Woking or Reigate.
This role is open to hybrid working and as a team we split our time between collaborating with colleagues in the office and working from home. We'll ensure you receive a full induction and training, with regular guidance, support and performance conversations with your Team Leader. We want you to feel confident and capable in your role.

About the Role
You'll be working in the Quality & Performance Service; part of Surrey's Children, Families and Lifelong Learning Directorate, supporting the efficient, effective and safe delivery of Home to School Transport across Surrey.
Children's Services provide a range of highly specialist services to mainstream and vulnerable children and young people, helping them to reach their potential within extensive statutory frameworks and in close partnership with parents/carers, schools, health services, the police and voluntary organisations. This is sensitive work of significant importance to the community.
As a Senior Travel & Assessment Officer, you will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of Surrey's School Travel & Assessment service by leading and completing complex operational tasks and processes. You will liaise with parents, schools, contracted transport operators and internal/external partners, offering accurate guidance and support in line with government legislation, Council policies and robust safeguarding standards.

15. Experience working in a complex, high‑volume operational environment — which may include transport services, commissioning, or customer‑facing public services
16. Confidence with IT systems and attention to detail in documentation and reporting
17. Safeguarding awareness and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
