This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor in Geriatric medicine to join our active and growing team here at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. The successful candidate will be part of an enthusiastic and forward-thinking team, driving forward service improvements.
The purpose of the role is to coordinate high-quality, person-centred care for patients on the ward, ensuring that all admitted patients have a diagnosis and treatment plan, and receive a daily medical review. The post holder will work closely with the medical team and the wider multidisciplinary clinical team to deliver excellent patient care and service development and improvements.

Candidate requirements
The successful candidate should have an interest in Geriatric Medicine, relevant experience, and be registered and licensed with the General Medical Council. This position offers an opportunity to build on existing experience. Although not a training post, the post holder can access educational sessions and supervision within the hospital for professional development.

Qualifications
* Entry on GMC Specialist Register in geriatric medicine or eligibility for specialist registration within 6 months of interview
* PACES
* Thorough knowledge of Good Medical Practice from the GMC
Desirable
* Valid ALS or equivalent
Experience
* Broad knowledge and experience of Geriatric Medicine and UK Acute Medicine and Ambulatory Care
* Understanding of clinical governance and personal development
* Experience in guideline appraisal and audits
