A leading global manufacturing organisation is seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer to join its established engineering team in Blackburn. This business partners with high-profile international brands across automotive and industrial sectors, delivering innovative and sustainable product solutions.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Process Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and improving manufacturing performance. The successful candidate will focus on optimising mechanical processes, increasing machine uptime, and supporting the integration of automation within production.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out mechanical maintenance and fault rectification to maximise machine availability
Analyse and improve existing processes to enhance efficiency, throughput, and reduce waste
Support the development and implementation of automation systems, including robotics and tooling
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new processes and technologies
Assist with tool changes, ensuring equipment readiness and achieving target changeover times
Set up machinery following tool changes to ensure smooth production start-up
About You
HNC qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Previous experience within manufacturing (plastics processing experience advantageous)
Exposure to automation technologies would be beneficial

Improved machine efficiency and uptime
Reduction in recurring downtime issues
Contribution to waste reduction initiatives
Implementation of process improvement recommendations
