Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Gastroenterology
Join to apply for the Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Gastroenterology role at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The post is a 12‑month, whole time equivalent position based at Wythenshawe Hospital. The post-holder will work as a registrar (ST) level in the department of gastroenterology and rotate in an equitable fashion with other doctors. The role focuses on endoscopy, working alongside consultants who provide tertiary endoscopy services. The appointee will attend endoscopy, ward rounds and research, and participate in a GIM on‑call rota, gaining practical acute medical skills.
All diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic modalities are performed (EUS, capsule endoscopy, tertiary ERCP). The team collaborates with gastroenterology, radiology, surgery, histopathology and a nutrition support team, and the Trust houses a tertiary Functional Bowel Disorder Service.
Applications must be supported by evidence of GMC registration and demonstrate commitment to attaining MRCP. Candidates not GMC registered at application are considered under the Trust’s International Fellowship Scheme (an admin charge of £500 applies).
