ABOUT PICKERING
The Pickering Group Ltd is a multinational group of electronics manufacturers headquartered in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex in the United Kingdom with operations worldwide. The Group is comprised of three companies Pickering Electronics, who manufacture reed relays, Pickering Interfaces who manufacture switching systems and Pickering Connect who manufacture the supporting cables and connectors.
Pickering employs around 600 people across two manufacturing facilities in the UK and the Czech Republic, and over nine direct sales and support offices located throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. All three companies have a reputation for producing innovative high-quality products for the test and measurement industry, which focuses on the production of equipment designed to identify, measure and regulate manufacturing processes. This is a market that is seeing considerable growth due to the rate of new technology and innovation, global regulation, and the growing complexity of electronic products.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AS A STORES PERSON AT PICKERING
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving goods
* Check deliveries for quantity, quality, and condition.
* Unload, inspect, and verify items against delivery notes or purchase orders.
* Report and document damaged or missing goods.
Storing materials
* Organise goods in the correct storage location.
* Label and safely store materials using proper methods.
* Maintain cleanliness and order in the storage area.
Inventory management
* Record stock levels using inventory software.
* Perform regular stock checks.
* Notify management of low stock or reorder needs.
Issuing goods
* Distribute items to appropriate departments as required.
* Ensure proper documentation (issue slips, delivery notes).
Document control
* Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing goods.
* Update inventory systems and complete related paperwork.
Health & Safety
* Follow safety procedures for lifting, handling, and storing goods.
* Use PPE and maintain a safe work environment.
Communication
* Good coordinate with procurement, accounts, Czech manufacturing and production teams.
Maintenance
· Ensure buildings and surroundings are clean, safe, any light maintenance is completed & ensure operational standards maintained.
Required Qualifications:
· Experience: Familiarity with receiving stock controland maintenance
* Skills/Competencies: Attention to detail, good communication skills
