Overview
The purpose of this post is to contribute to the dermatology nursing service by being actively involved in the provision of nurse‑led services that positively impact the experience of patients and carers through high standards of clinical practice and care. The post‑holder will play a senior role in the day‑to‑day management of the dermatology area and in the provision of all outpatient services.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert nursing leadership, advice and support to a multi‑professional team on the management of patients with dermatological conditions within primary and secondary care.
* Manage junior members of the dermatology nursing team on a shift basis and contribute to staff development and training.
* Take an active part in the future development and expansion of nurse‑led services and initiatives to improve the quality of care delivered to patients accessing dermatology services across the Trust.
* Support the Trust’s PRIDE values and behaviours and act as a role model for best practice.
Qualifications
* Band 6 level with required competencies and experience.
* Alternatively, a developmental post at Band 5 for candidates who may not yet fully meet the criteria; structured training to progress to Band 6 within six months upon achieving the necessary competencies.
* Experience in dermatology nursing with an understanding of the full spectrum of dermatological conditions.
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
* Commitment to safeguarding and awareness of safeguarding procedures for children and adults.
