What you’ll be doing
as a Data Analyst
You’ll turn complex data into clear, actionable insights, helping to strengthen credit risk strategies and improve how we manage and collect revenue. You’ll play a key part in upgrading our reporting and unlocking smarter ways to track and manage performance. If you enjoy solving problems with data and want your work to make a real difference, this is the role for you. You will:
1. Lead the development of credit and portfolio MI to support strategy changes through data insight and performance analysis.
2. Monitor key portfolio data and provide regular reporting, including deep dives to understand trends and variances.
3. Provide insight to support the Bad Debt Transformation programme, recommending improvements and tracking impact.
4. Support the transition to a data lake, creating new SQL-driven reporting tools and maintaining strong data governance.
5. Work closely with stakeholders to promote data-driven decision-making within the Income function.
6. Act as a subject matter expert in credit risk and collections, shaping and improving strategic execution.
Swindon-based, with one office day every Tuesday.
What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
7. At least 3 years’ experience in a data analytics role, turning data into real-world results and driving smarter business decisions.
8. Strong SQL skills – confident in writing efficient queries and building clear, reliable reports.
9. Great with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools to support everyday analysis and communication.
10. A natural collaborator – able to work across teams and translate complex data into simple, actionable insights.
11. Hands-on experience with Power BI and exposure to cloud data platforms like Azure Data Lake, AWS or Google Cloud.
12. Knowledge of credit risk, utilities, or financial services is a bonus.
13. A degree (or equivalent experience) in a data-focused subject, with skills in Python or R as a nice-to-have for data modelling and visualisation.
