We now seek a senior oncology imaging leader to shape and oversee all oncology programs and become the visible scientific face of IAG in this space.
Position overview
The Medical Lead for Oncology will provide strategic, scientific and operational leadership across IAG’s oncology portfolio, which includes solid tumor, neuro-onc, radiopharma and hem studies. This person will own oversight of oncology imaging trials, lead key sponsor interactions.
You will work directly with the CEO an Head of Medical and Scientific Affairs to drive the development and external visibility of IAG’s oncology capabilities, develop publications and attend key conferences to represent IAG.
This role is ideal for an oncology imaging expert who wants to leverage deep academic/industry experience to influence multiple programs and help scale a high‑growth, innovation‑focused organization.
Key responsibilities
Strategic leadership
* Lead IAG’s oncology imaging strategy
* Shape IAG’s scientific positioning in oncology imaging
* Partner closely with the CEO and executive team on portfolio decisions, productization of imaging services, and strategic partnerships.
* Take accountability for strategic relationships.
Operational and medical trial oversight
* Be accountable for oncology imaging trials (quality of imaging protocols, charters, manuals, read paradigms, QC plans, data interpretation).
* Lead or supervise development of imaging endpoint strategies for sponsor programs, including complex/novel endpoints and surrogate biomarkers.
* Chair internal oncology imaging review boards, adjudication meetings and critical data reviews.
* Provide hands‑on guidance to project teams and reader networks on oncology trials.
* Mentor and develop a high‑performing oncology imaging group, including succession planning and recruitment.
* Ensure consistent scientific quality and scalability of oncology delivery processes across geographies.
Client‑facing leadership and business development
* Act as senior contact for strategic oncology accounts and high‑value opportunities.
* Represent IAG in sponsor meetings
* Partner with BD/Commercial teams to shape proposals, defend methodologies, and support closing of new business.
* Represent IAG at international oncology and imaging conferences, workshops and consortia.
* Lead or co‑author scientific publications, white papers and position statements in oncology imaging.
* Build and nurture collaborations with academic groups, cooperative groups and technology partners.
Cadidate profile
Essential qualifications
* Medical degree (M.D. or equivalent) in radiology, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology or closely related field; or Ph.D. with equivalent international reputation in oncology imaging.
* Recognised track record in oncology imaging trials (e.g., PET/CT, MRI, CT, hybrid imaging), ideally with multicentre and/or global experience.
Significant experience in:
* Designing and operationalising imaging endpoints in oncology trials.
* Working with industry sponsors (pharma/biotech) and/or cooperative groups.
* Leading multidisciplinary teams across science, operations and technology.
* Deep understanding of oncology response criteria and imaging‑related regulatory expectations (e.g., RECIST, disease‑specific criteria, exploratory biomarkers).
Preferred experience
* Prior senior leadership role in an imaging CRO, cancer centre, cooperative group, or academic imaging core lab.
* Experience interacting with regulatory authorities, HTA bodies or key opinion leaders regarding imaging endpoints.
* Familiarity with quantitative imaging, radiomics and AI‑based methods and their use in oncology drug and device development.
