*Project Manager - Engineering Projects*
Colchester, Essex | Up to £50k per annum
If you’re already running engineering projects but feel like you’re constantly chasing updates, dealing with unclear ownership, or firefighting delivery issues, this could be a step up.
This role sits within a growing engineering business delivering complex mechanical systems into industrial environments across the UK. The work is project-led, customer-facing and technically detailed.
*What you’ll be doing*
You’ll take ownership of projects from initial handover through to final delivery.
That means:
* Managing projects end to end
* Acting as the main point of contact for customers and suppliers
* Building and managing project plans, timelines and resources
* Running project reviews and reporting progress internally
* Managing risk, changes and delivery challenges
* Working closely with engineering teams to keep projects moving
This is not a coordination role. You are responsible for delivery.
*What’s different*
You’ll be working in a business where:
* Projects are properly scoped and handed over
* Engineering and project teams work closely together
* There is a steady pipeline of technically interesting work
* You have the autonomy to run your projects properly
There is also some international exposure as part of the wider group.
*What they’re looking for*
This suits someone who is already delivering projects in an engineering environment.
Typically:
* Mechanical or industrial engineering background
* Experience managing projects from start to finish
* Comfortable dealing with customers and suppliers
* Able to plan, organise and drive delivery
* Confident taking ownership
Project Engineers stepping up into a Project Manager role will also be considered if you are already running projects in practice.
*Why move?*
You’ll get:
* More ownership of projects
* A clearer structure around delivery
* Exposure to technically complex systems
* A role where project management is taken seriously
*Next step*
If you’re already in a Project Engineer or Project Manager role and want something more structured, apply or get in touch for more detail.
