arlo consultancy services is a growing HSEQ and HR consultancy supporting organisations across construction, housing, utilities, FM, education, and professional services. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a confident and proactive HR Consultant to join our team.
About the Role
As an HR Consultant, you will work closely with a portfolio of clients, providing expert advice, developing documentation, and supporting day‑to‑day HR operations. Every day is different – from creating contracts and handbooks to advising on ER matters, delivering training, and helping clients strengthen their people‑management processes.
This role is highly flexible and can be offered part‑time or full‑time, depending on the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted HR advisor to clients across multiple sectors
* Develop and update HR documentation: employment contracts, handbooks, policies, onboarding packs, etc.
* Provide guidance on UK employment law, best practice, and HR compliance
* Support clients with employee relations matters (informal guidance, investigations, performance management, absence, grievances, etc.)
* Conduct HR audits and produce improvement recommendations
* Support recruitment processes, onboarding and induction
* Create and deliver HR‑related training and briefing sessions
* Ensure clients remain compliant with GDPR, Equality Act 2010, Working Time Regulations and other key legislation
* Maintain accurate records, version control and documentation governance
* Contribute to internal service development and support the wider arlo consultancy services team
What We’re Looking For
* Demonstrated experience in an HR Advisor/HR Consultant/People Partner role
* Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
* Confident in drafting documentation and giving practical HR advice
* Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
* Highly organised with a proactive, solution‑focused approach
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients
