Overview
Shop Assistant – 15 hours per week inc weekends on rota. Location: 735b Newport Rd, Rumney, Cardiff CF3 4FD. Salary: £12.21 per hour plus reward and benefit scheme.
Sue Ryder is one of the largest charity retailers in the UK with over 400 shops. Every item sold funds our care and support services, including expert medical, practical, bereavement and emotional support in hospices, in people’s homes and in the community. We aim to make sure everyone approaching the end of life or living with grief can access the support they need.
Our shop is part of a wide network on high streets across the country, offering a range of items including clothing, bric-a-brac, books, and a selection of brand new goods. As a member of the retail team, you will help inspire communities to support more care for more people through innovative and collaborative approaches to reduce, reuse and recycle, and you will contribute to driving income to sustain our services.
Responsibilities
* As a Shop Assistant, help create a well-presented shop where customers get great service. Sort and size stock and assist customers with purchases. You may move stock, which may involve lifting heavy goods or furniture.
* To maximise donated income through proactive stock generation, optimum pricing, processing stock to agreed levels and stock planning.
* Set high standards of merchandising and housekeeping, prioritising health and safety for yourself and colleagues.
* Manage effective stock processes to ensure the shop is well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock at all times.
* Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder, supporting in-store campaigns to promote the brand and national fundraising initiatives.
