NHS Borders invites applicants to join our Child & Adolescent Health Service. This is a career opportunity to work in the Scottish Borders with access to major cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle.
Scottish Borders CAMHS aims to deliver person-centred care based on GIRFEC principles within the community. As we progress with our service improvement program, this post is central to transforming how we support and care for children, young people and families in the community.
Responsibilities
* Work with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure services are effective and participate in continued professional and practice development, including in-house training.
* Lead by example to maintain high standards of care and practice in the CAMHS service; support CAMHS multi-disciplinary working.
* Provide Tier 3 multidisciplinary and psychological interventions, and Tier 4 intensive community treatment, working closely with Young People’s Units when hospital admissions are necessary.
* Contribute to service improvement and development of good working relationships with multiagency partners.
Qualifications and Skills
* Motivated nurse with strong leadership and clinical skills to support CAMHS multi-disciplinary work.
* Experience in community mental health is advantageous; sound knowledge of current clinical practice is essential.
* A desire to develop clinical experience and knowledge of children and young people’s mental health.
