Development Manager (Land) - Renewable Energy Projects

Salary range: £55,000 - 65,000 + wider package. (12 month initial FTC with scope for a permanent position upon completion)
Piper Maddox are pleased to be working alongside a leading player in the UK renewable energy industry to add to their project development capabilities. The role is as a Development Manager with a particular focus on experience in the Land Management side of the development lifecycle.
Our client has been a mainstay in the industry for close to a decade and are a full scale Independent Power Producer (IPP). They take their projects in Solar and Battery Storage from inception, through development, and into delivery/construction - finishing up with an operational utility scale asset.
They are currently working on a strong pipeline in active development from early stage and through the planning consents process. Importantly as well, you can rest assured you will see your projects come to fruition as this company has an excellent track record of taking projects on from development and into full scale construction.
In the current UK renewable energy industry, stability is a key factor for consideration. Our client have solid investment from a leading name in the infrastructure financing world, and pairing this up with the strong development pipeline, they were able to move their projects successfully into the Gate2 process.
They are looking to add a Development Manager to their team who will be predominantly working on land matters to progress their projects forward. Land experience is the key focus, but wider experience in planning or grid matters would also prove useful. Prior experience in Solar & BESS would be ideal in this position.
In this role, you would be responsible for key commercial negotiations including option to lease agreements, wayleaves, and easements. You would also play a key role in managing landowner relationships, being confident and comfortable in rural/agricultural settings. A strong network of landowners/land agents across the UK would be an excellent bonus.
You would also have the opportunity to work on some hugely innovative projects as our client work on both greenfield and brownfield projects. If of interest, experience in M&A origination could be used within our client's project plans going forward.
