Location: Manchester – Hybrid working a minimum of 3 days per week in the office
Salary: £29–35k (DOE) + £4,250 car allowance + excellent benefits

What You'll Be Doing
As a Graduate Scientific Advisor/Trainer, you'll quickly become a trusted technical specialist, working with UK Fire & Rescue Services, Police Forces and major commercial clients. You'll receive full training and ongoing support to help you grow into the role.
Your Work Will Include
Delivering engaging technical training on hazardous materials, incident management, and monitoring/testing equipment
Assessing learners and providing constructive feedback
Helping maintain and expand our accredited training portfolio
Providing scientific support as part of a 24/7 on‑call rota (1 week in 4, with additional standby payments)
Using advanced analytical equipment (IR, GC/MS, Raman) to identify and monitor hazardous substances
Supporting consultancy projects, including incident response, chemical management, and hazardous materials guidance
Producing clear, professional reports for clients
Staying up to date with legislation, standards, and emerging technologies
Collaborating with colleagues across areas such as air quality, fire risk, and certification services
This is a role for someone who wants to learn fast, travel, and gain exposure to a wide range of scientific and operational environments.
Essential
What we're looking for
A degree in Chemistry (or a similar discipline or strong lab‑based chemical industry experience)
Confident communication skills — you'll be training and advising a wide range of people
Strong organisation and adaptability
Willingness to travel across the UK, including multi‑day training courses
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
Level 3 AET (or equivalent teaching/training qualification)
Experience using monitoring or analytical equipment
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RSC)
