Portering Services are looking for motivated individuals to join their small and friendly team. This is a physically demanding role that is rewarding, challenging, and makes a real difference to our patient experience and the smooth running of our services.
We offer an outstanding benefits package alongside an hourly rate of £12.08, with enhancements for shifts worked at weekends, bank holidays, and nights. The working pattern covers 7 days a week, including early, late, and night shifts, with different shift patterns attracting additional pay.
Main duties of the job
As part of this role, you will cover various shifts on a 24-hour rota, including early, late, night duties, weekends, and bank holidays. All shifts are 8 hours with a 30-minute break. Daily tasks may include walking 12-15 miles, transferring patients on beds or chairs, moving equipment and medical notes (up to 15kg), and assisting with office/ward moves. Other duties include delivering internal post, pharmacy supplies, and blood products across the Trust. Some duties are of a sensitive nature.
The role also involves the use of on-site electrical vehicles for waste collection, post delivery, and pharmacy deliveries. A full UK driving license is required.
