15 hours per week (either 2 full days or 3 shorter days) – flexibility available – Term Time only – 38 weeks, inset days worked as required and are paid as overtime.
Location: Primarily based at Downley, with occasional support required at Cressex and Studley Green sites

The Health & Safety Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Facilities Manager with day-to-day health and safety administration and compliance monitoring across our sites.
Job Salary Range 2– Range 3 DOE (£25,625- £30,174 FTE – Actual pay - £8,591 - £10,109 per annum)

Chiltern Wood School is a vibrant and inclusive Special School supporting over 200 pupils aged 3–19 across three sites: Cressex, Downley and Studley Green. As part of our continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a proactive and organised Health & Safety Assistant to support the Facilities Manager in maintaining a safe and compliant environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
About the role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Facilities Manager and site staff, helping to ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed consistently and effectively.
We’re looking for someone who has excellent organisational and administrative skills and pays strong attention to detail and accuracy
Previous experience in a health and safety or facilities-based administrative role would be beneficial but is not essential – full training will be provided.
As this role supports all three school sites, the successful candidate will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Desirable
Experience in a school or educational setting
Familiarity with AssessNET or other H&S software
Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Working Safely or equivalent)
Understanding of H&S compliance in a multi-site environment
Experience supporting a Facilities or H&S Manager
