Job overview
This is a bank dietetic assistant role to support the dietitians covering the inpatient wards at Worthing Hospital.
This post is based at Worthing Hospital and will join our team of dietitians providing services to Worthing Hospital. The department is well respected and has clinical speciality areas in acute medicine, critical care, diabetes, elderly care, gastroenterology, home enteral tube feeding, oncology, paediatrics, stroke/neurology, and surgery.
Worthing Hospital is located on the South coast, minutes from the sea and with the South Downs within easy reach. It is a vibrant and lively place to live and work with excellent transport links to Brighton and London.
Main duties of the job
* Work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in gathering information on patients for the dietitians
* Assist with ordering samples, patient letters, phone calls

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Under regular supervision of registered dietitian to assist in collecting information on the dietary intake and anthropometric measurements of patients
* Participate in multi-disciplinary initiatives which have a nutritional component.
* Undertake delegated tasks to contribute to the safe and smooth running of the Dietetic service.
* To participate in clinical governance and quality improvement projects under the guidance of a registered dietitian.
* To take responsibility for risk management and health and safety in the workplace by adhering to and promoting Health and Safety regulations, trust and departmental policies.

Person specification
Qualifications
* 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent) grade A-C or 4-9 including Maths and English.
* Science degree at level 6
Knowledge, training and experience
* Basic experience of evaluating dietetic service and clinical audit
* Good Standard of written and spoken English
* Some knowledge of nutrition
* Experience of Multidisciplinary working and partnership working with other professionals
Communication and Relationship Skills
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Good command of English
Planning and Organisational
* able to manage caseload and prioritise work
* meet deadlines and complete projects
