We are looking for a hands‑on Sales Manager to lead and grow our sales team, driving results while fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture as well as contributing to the debate about adding new vendors to our solution stack.
The Role
As Sales Manager, you will:
* Lead, develop, and manage the sales team to consistently meet and exceed targets.
* Build and implement strategic sales plans to grow revenue and margin across existing and new client accounts.
* Take a hands‑on approach to coaching, mentoring, and motivating the team, including setting targets and KPIs, fostering a high‑performance, accountable structure.
* Manage pipeline, reporting, and forecasting to ensure accuracy, business growth and efficiency.
* Work closely with leadership to align sales strategy and vendor solutions with company goals.
* Support the team in technical discussions and solution recommendations for clients.
* Engage with clients directly when needed to drive key deals and demonstrate industry expertise.
* Work with marketing and customer support to align our efforts to make us the easiest partner to do business with.
* Provide performance updates to senior leadership with investment suggestions or corrective actions.
Requirements
* Proven experience managing and leading sales teams in B2B IT, tech, or consulting sectors.
* Demonstrable track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
* Knowledge of software and hardware solutions, digital workspaces, licensing requirements, and data analysis.
* Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and people management skills.
* Hands‑on, results‑driven approach, comfortable both managing and contributing to sales efforts, leading by example.
* Own and maintain a personal pipeline and meet your sales targets.
* Use company CRM tools effectively to track and manage opportunities.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Based in Stockport, with a willingness to work on‑site full‑time.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
Desirable
* Experience with VMware Cloud solutions.
* Existing vendor or client network in IT solutions, cloud, or digital services.
