Job Description:

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

This is a fixed-term post of 12 months.

The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

The Inverclyde Primary Care Mental Health Team (IPCMHT) seeks to recruit a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner. This role is initially fixed-term due to ongoing service review.

As a key member of the PCMHT, the responsibilities include:

* Providing and supervising thorough assessments
* Managing risks and implementing psychological therapy programs for common mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorder, using a recovery-focused, strength-based approach that involves patients in their care planning

The post-holder will work independently and support colleagues, promoting partnership working with patients, carers, and other professionals within legislative and clinical standards. Duties may involve working in GP surgeries, community settings, and patients’ homes. The role supports mental health care at Tier 1 level and integrates clinical psychology services, liaising with the Inverclyde Community Mental Health Team.

Key functions include supervising others, liaising across care levels, and supporting team development. The role extends across the community mental health service as needed.

Applicants must hold a Diploma or Degree in a recognized mental health profession (e.g., Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy).

Further contact details are in the Candidate Information Packs.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde values diversity and encourages applications from all community sections. We are committed to being a Forces Friendly Employer and support military community applications.

From 1 April 2024, NHS Scotland is reducing the full-time workweek from 37.5 to 37 hours without pay change. Part-time staff will also have this adjustment pro-rata. Some temporary additional hours may be required until new rosters are implemented. Please contact the Recruiting Board for questions.

Applicants must submit authentic responses to all application questions, with no AI or third-party assistance. Misrepresentation may lead to application withdrawal.
