Senior Consultant/Manager – Commercial Due Diligence
We are supporting a specialist advisory platform looking to appoint a Senior Consultant / Manager to its growing energy and infrastructure team, with a particular focus on commercial due diligence across flexibility markets.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working at the intersection of energy markets, transactions and strategy, and who wants exposure to high-profile investor, lender and corporate clients operating across the energy transition.
The team advises on a wide range of opportunities linked to the evolution of power systems, with a particular focus on flexible assets, business models and market dynamics. This includes supporting transactions, strategic investment decisions and growth plans across areas such as battery storage, demand-side response, distributed energy, virtual power plants, ancillary services, balancing markets and broader power market flexibility themes.
The role
You would work closely with investors, developers, utilities and other market participants on commercial due diligence and broader strategic engagements, helping clients assess market attractiveness, revenue potential, competitive dynamics and key investment risks.
Typical projects are likely to include:
* Commercial due diligence on platforms, projects and portfolios operating across flexibility markets
* Market assessments covering revenue stacking opportunities, route-to-market strategies and long-term market outlooks
* Analysis of balancing services, ancillary services, capacity markets and other flexibility-driven revenue streams
* Strategic reviews for clients looking to enter new technologies, markets or business models within the energy transition
* Evaluation of regulatory and policy developments shaping flexible generation, storage and demand-side assets
* Supporting clients on transactions, fundraising processes, acquisitions, divestments and growth strategy
Candidate profile
The brief is intentionally broad and could suit candidates from a range of backgrounds, including energy consulting, strategy consulting, transaction advisory, infrastructure advisory, power market analysis, commercial roles within flexibility businesses, or investment / due diligence roles focused on energy transition assets.
Candidates are likely to bring some combination of the following:
* Experience in commercial due diligence, strategy, market analysis or transaction support
* Exposure to flexibility markets, battery storage, ancillary services, balancing mechanisms, DSR, VPPs, route-to-market or related power market topics
* Strong understanding of the commercial drivers behind flexible energy assets and business models
* Ability to assess market opportunity, revenue models, risks and competitive positioning
* Confidence working with clients and presenting clear, commercially grounded recommendations
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex market issues into practical investment insight
