Candidate Requirements for Veterinary Surgeon: Essential Qualifications and Experience: * Veterinary Degree: Must hold a recognised degree in Veterinary Medicine (MRCVS). * RCVS Registration: Full registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). * Clinical Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a small animal practice or mixed practice environment. * Surgical Skills: Competency in routine surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and dental work. * Diagnostic Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as X-rays, ultrasound, and laboratory tests to diagnose and treat animals. * Client Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information to clients in a clear and empathetic manner. * Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, receptionists, and other veterinary surgeons. * CPD Commitment: A commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up-to-date with the latest veterinary practices and procedures.
