We are seeking a proactive ProductionSupervisor ensuring that every unit meets our rigorous standards for quality, durability, and safety. Role Summary The Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the assembly department, translating engineering plans into high-quality finished products. You will be responsible for coordinating a team of technicians, managing build schedules, and maintaining a safe, efficient workspace. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both technical mechanical knowledge and strong people management skills. Key Responsibilities Production & Workflow Management: Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives for the assembly team and communicate them clearly to all employees. Organise workflow by assigning specific responsibilities and preparing detailed build schedules to meet customer deadlines. Monitor production progress in real-time, identifying bottlenecks and adjusting resources to maintain flow. Quality & Technical Oversight: Ensure all assembled balers meet 100% of quality control (QC) specifications and internal safety standards. Perform first-line quality checks and document any non-conformances to trigger corrective actions. Interpret technical drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and work instructions for complex electromechanical assemblies. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and coach assembly technicians to foster a high-performance culture. Train new hires on safe machinery use, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and specialized assembly techniques. Conduct regular performance evaluations and one-to-one huddles to identify training needs. Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict health and safety guidelines, ensuring the correct use of PPE and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections of tools, fixtures, and workstations to maintain a hazard-free environment. Continuous Improvement: Utilise Lean manufacturing techniques (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) to reduce waste, downtime, and production costs. Analyse production data to identify inefficiencies and suggest process enhancements. Qualifications & Experience Experience: Minimum of 35 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory or team lead role. Proven background in the assembly of heavy industrial machinery or electromechanical systems. Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and electrical schematics. Proficiency in production management software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Epicor). Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment. Education: Degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field is preferred. Alternative: Technical diploma or NVQ Level 3 with extensive hands-on experience.
