Overview
Clinical Fellow in Anaesthesia position at University College Hospitals NHS Trust. 12‑month fixed‑term role.
The fellow will engage mainly in clinical practice (at least 50% of time) within a chosen fellowship area, alongside sessions in other relevant areas and departmental needs, and will run independent elective lists to build clinical practice.
Start date: 3 February 2027.

* Obstetric Anaesthesia
* Individual bespoke fellowships may be accommodated where available.
Responsibilities
* Deliver multimodal anaesthetic care in the agreed fellowship area, meeting national training standards.
* Attend and lead elective lists independently to develop independent practice.
* Manage on‑call duties, typically 1 in 9, covering theatres and/or the labour ward, with alternative rota arrangements discussed ahead of rotation.
* Allocate approximately half a day per week to research, education and management activities.
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, teaching or research projects and receive support for these activities.
* Collaborate closely with the wider perioperative team to deliver high‑quality patient care.
Qualifications & Attributes
The candidate should be self‑driven, proactive and possess the professional attributes expected of an anaesthesia clinical fellow. They must have a proven commitment to clinical excellence and be prepared to engage in the full spectrum of educational and research responsibilities described above.
