Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist lawyers in preparing for hearings, trials, and meetings, while also managing case files and conducting legal research. This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and contracts
* Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation
* Organise and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and accessible
* Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress
* Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates using Microsoft Outlook
* Manage deadlines effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks
* Utilise Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for document creation and data management
* Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for trials by organising exhibits and evidence
Qualifications
* Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Strong IT skills to navigate various software applications relevant to legal work
* Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously
* Previous experience as a paralegal or in a related field is advantageous but not essential
