We are partnering with a well-established, fast-paced high street fashion brand looking to appoint a Junior Buyer to join their growing Buying team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded Assistant Buyer who is confident building ranges, trading product, and ready for increased ownership and responsibility.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Buyer, you will play a key role in planning and delivering commercially successful, customer-focused ranges that drive sales and profit.
You’ll take ownership of your category, manage supplier relationships, and actively trade your department, ensuring ranges are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with brand strategy.
This role would suit a strong Assistant Buyer who is ready to step up, take more accountability, and make a visible impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development of profitable, trend-led ranges
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships (FOB & landed experience desirable)
* Negotiate cost prices while protecting margin and product integrity
* Monitor sales performance and react quickly to trading opportunities
* Manage the critical path to ensure key deadlines are met
* Review competitor activity and maintain strong price architecture
* Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Technical, Retail and Marketing teams
* Present ranges in selection and sign-off meetings
* Visit stores regularly to stay close to the customer and trading performance
About You
* Currently operating at Assistant Buyer level (minimum 3 years’ experience)
* Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding
* Proven experience building profitable ranges
* Confident communicator and presenter
* Highly organised with excellent critical path management skills
* Proactive, driven and ready for the next step
