The team…
Education, Schools and Inclusion covers a wide range of areas including schools organization and admissions, adult learning, 0-5 Service, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and support services to schools such as music service, sports partnership, governor support, and school improvement.
The 0-5 Service provides support, challenge, and guidance to PVI Settings and Schools, including teams such as portage, Early Years specialist teaching team, Early Years and Childcare team, Area SENCos, and Teaching and Learning Consultants.
About the role…
The Area SENCo team in Gateshead provides support, advice, training, and information to PVI settings and schools on inclusive practices for children aged 0-5 with SEND, ensuring full inclusion within settings.
The primary focus of your role will be to support early years settings and schools in early identification and intervention for children with SEND. Settings can seek advice from the team at the first signs of concern.
You will aim to offer your allocated PVI settings a termly monitoring visit, contribute to the SLA training program by delivering training on EY SEND and Inclusion, and manage a termly EY SEND and Inclusion network meeting.
