The Role
A friendly, well-established general practice accountancy firm is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join its growing team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with UK practice experience who wants broad exposure across accounts, VAT, tax returns and bookkeeping, with structured training towards year-end accounts.
The firm has a relaxed, supportive environment, a single Partner, and a close-knit team, making it an ideal setting to learn, develop and progress.

Key Responsibilities
• Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts (with training provided)
• Bookkeeping for a varied client base
• Preparing and assisting with VAT returns
• Supporting with personal tax returns
• Working with clients preparing for Making Tax Digital (MTD)
• Maintaining accurate accounting records
• Supporting the wider team across general practice work
Ideal Background
• Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Exposure to bookkeeping, VAT and tax returns
• No formal qualifications required
• Candidates looking to start or continue ACCA studies are desirable
• Organised, keen to learn and comfortable working in a small-team environment
