Permanent position. Hours: 33.67 hours per week, Term Time only – 39 weeks per year. Salary: Grade 5 £20,740 to £22,606 per annum plus SEN.
Job Overview
The role of the Learning Facilitator is key to the success of our school. Working closely under the guidance of teaching staff, you will work with individuals and groups of pupils in or out of the classroom, providing detailed and specialist skills/knowledge in particular areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the teacher in the whole planning cycle.
* Supervise whole classes or groups during the short-term absence of a teacher.
* Provide specialist skills and knowledge to support pupils’ learning.
Key Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience.
* Other relevant qualifications, e.g., Level 3 Award / certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
* Very good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Training and accreditation in relevant “specialist” areas beneficial to the school (e.g., science, maths, bilingual, SEND, behaviour).
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age.
* Full working knowledge of school policies and procedures relating to health and safety, behaviour, attendance, equal opportunities and child protection.
* Working knowledge of the national curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies.
* Understanding of the principles of child development and learning processes.
* Experience of supporting teaching staff in the development and education of pupils, including the provision of specialist skills and knowledge.
