What You’ll Do
* Run and manage monthly UK payroll processes, including salary changes, bonuses, pensions, starters and leavers
* Act as the internal expert for payroll queries from employees and managers
* Keep payroll records up to date and ensure HMRC and pension compliance
* Maintain and enhance our in-house payroll system and tooling
* Administer employee benefits such as pensions and ensure we are fully compliant with regulators
* Own payroll reporting, journal reconciliations, and data analysis for Finance
* Monitor UK and European payroll legislation changes to ensure the business is continuously compliant
What You’ll Bring
* Solid experience running UK payroll end-to-end, ideally in a lead or standalone capacity
* Deep understanding of UK payroll, tax, and pension regulations
* High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
* Confident working within finance systems (e.g. HRIS, accounting software, in-house tools)
* Proactive, collaborative approach—comfortable driving process improvements in a fast-paced team. Able to step into other areas of finance if needed.
Nice to Have
* Hands-on experience with Xero for payroll/accounting
* Exposure to a start-up or scale-up environment
* CIPP qualification (or working towards it)
