SEN Teacher – Outreach Tuition Location: Across the Borough of Harrow Start Date: ASAP Pay: £30–£40 per hour paid PPA time We are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teachers to deliver 1:1 and small group tuition to pupils across Harrow. This role is ideal for teachers who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs, including those with autism, ADHD, SEMH,SLCN, specific learning difficulties and moderate learning difficulties, who may be unable to access mainstream education full-time. Teaching focuses on developing core academic skills, communication, emotional regulation, and confidence through a personalised, child-centred approach. Key Information: * Hours: Tuition takes place Monday to Friday between 9am–4pm (term-time only). Sessions are scheduled flexibly around your availability. * PPA Time: You will receive 2 hours of paid PPA when you start. For every 10 hours of tuition completed per child, you will receive an additional hour of paid PPA. * Location: Tuition usually takes place in the student’s home (with a parent/carer present). In some cases, sessions may be held in a nearby library or learning centre. Requirements: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) is essential * Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service or willingness to apply) * Experience supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) * The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs * A patient, flexible, and empathetic approach to teaching and learning Roles and Responsibilities: * Planning tailored lessons to the individuals EHCP * Write a weekly report on topics covered, areas of improvement and any areas of concerns * Adapting learning materials and teaching methods as necessary * Liaise with the parents and SENCo, and in some cases external agencies to provide a hollistic approach If you are an experienced SEN Teacher looking for flexible, meaningful work, we would love to hear from you.
