Quarriers has a rare and exciting opportunity for an IT Operations and Security Manager to lead the delivery, resilience and security of our technology across services in Scotland. You will oversee day-to-day IT operations, drive continuous improvement, and provide clear technical leadership to a small team of IT professionals. Working closely with the Head of IT, you will align technology decisions with organisational priorities and user needs. You will balance operational delivery with forward planning - ensuring our infrastructure, cloud services and end-user environment are secure, reliable and fit for the future. This is a full-time, permanent role working 35 hours per week. It is delivered in line with our agile working policy, blending home working with office time and service visits, with an office base available at either Quarriers Village or our Head Office in Glasgow. Key responsibilities Lead the delivery of IT operations across Quarriers, ensuring stable, high-quality support and service performance. Own and improve the organisation’s infrastructure and cloud services, balancing reliability, security and value for money. Maintain and strengthen cyber security controls, processes and assurance, including Cyber Essentials Plus. Provide leadership, coaching and direction to a small team of IT professionals, supporting performance and development. Work with stakeholders across services to understand needs, manage priorities and deliver positive outcomes. Essential experience and skills Degree qualified (or equivalent relevant experience). Extensive experience delivering and supporting IT infrastructure, including networking, telephony and storage. Proven experience managing Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure and Intune. Experience implementing and maintaining cyber security controls, processes and accreditation (including Cyber Essentials Plus). Forward-thinking approach to adopting new technology (for example AI, assistive/applied technology and IoT) to improve how we support services. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage priorities and deadlines. Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills, with a track record of delivering positive outcomes. Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills, with the ability to translate requirements into practical delivery.
