Student Support Worker
Direct Entry 14-16
Permanent vacancy - 37 hours per week / 40 weeks per year
£21,382 pro rata (£19,421 per annum)
Barnsley College is an exciting place to be. We are an outstanding college with recent successes and a growing reputation for quality and innovation. We are now looking to appoint a student support worker to support students aged 14–16 in our direct entry team.
Role overview
The Student Support Worker will provide support, motivation, and guidance to help students overcome obstacles and build a better future. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for working with young people facing personal, social, and emotional challenges. Experience in this area is advantageous but not essential. All applicants must be committed to creating an outstanding, personalized, and self-directed learning environment.
Main duties include:
* Act as an advocate and support students within your cohort
* Work closely with students who have an EHCP
* Support in lessons and tutorials to enhance students' cultural capital
* Provide tailored learner support based on individual needs
* Collaborate with teaching staff to identify student needs
* Encourage learners and assist them in achieving qualifications
* Promote positive behaviour, attendance, and respect
