What you’ll be doing
As one of our Hospitality & Catering Assistants your duties will be varied, our centre is always busy, so we need team members that are happy to help wherever required.
You will be helping our housekeeping operations, with tasks such as cleaning and laundry. In addition to assisting our catering team with setting up the dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
Other duties can include working in the kitchen assisting with food preparation and serving food to our visitors.

Where you’ll be based
Field Studies Council Flatford Mill is the first and original field study centre set up in the UK during the 1940’s. It is set amidst the quintessentially English countryside of the Dedham Vale in Suffolk and sits on the banks of the River Stour.
We can accommodate up to 64 guests across 24 bedrooms. We have internationally important buildings onsite such as Willy Lotts’ House, (built in the 1500’s and made famous by John Constable’s ‘Haywain’ painting), Valley Farm (a medieval great hall built in the 1450’s) and of course the Mill itself that was owned and renovated by the Constable family in the 1700’s.
We are situated at the end of a lane that has no through traffic which offers visitors of all ages a sought-after sense of tranquillity. Our 7 hectares of grounds include riverside and lake margins, woodland, grassland, and quiet areas with picnic benches all connected by circular walks.
