The Opportunity: this is an administrative role to begin with for the successful candidate to lead to a Producer role, working with the EnergyNet production team on the Africa Energy Forum and the YES! Summit, and supporting EnergyNet’s portfolio of regional events.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player with excellent organisational skills and a high attention to detail, and will have the opportunity to develop their career within the business.


Responsibilities

* Support the production team through excellent administration and organisational skills to deliver the Africa portfolio of events, including the Africa Energy Forum and related activities.
* Support the YES! team to deliver the YES! portfolio of events, including the flagship YES! Summit with a large speaker lineup.
* Assist in planning and delivering other smaller regional conferences/events (e.g., Washington, Zambia, Ghana) with strong administrative support.
* Communicate professionally with confirmed speakers to help them prepare for participation, liaising with government ministers and senior officials as needed.
* Coordinate speaker information, registrations, and event materials; ensure speakers are registered and provided with necessary materials.
* Maintain accurate records on the speaker database using returned registration information; assist with registration systems to update records and download materials as required.
* Keep the website updated with agenda and speaker details.
* Support and, where needed, lead additional projects related to conferences/events (networking sessions, fundraising events, targeted workshops).
* Suggest efficient processes to improve organisation of the EnergyNet Production team and their work.
* Collaborate with the EnergyNet team to deliver events to a high standard with marketing, sales, and operations teams; contribute on-site during events to ensure a positive attendee experience.


Requirements / Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours

* A passion to deliver high quality work through strong administration and organisational skills.
* Proven project and time management skills.
* Outstanding customer service skills delivered through engagement by phone and in person.
* Ability to build rapport with senior level stakeholders such as CEOs, government representatives and ministers.
* High level of attention to detail; able to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent teamwork and collaboration.
* Language skills (French, Portuguese, Spanish) would be an advantage but are not essential.
* Experience in Africa and the energy sector would be an advantage but is not essential.
* Interest in Africa’s energy and infrastructure sector and willingness to learn about the sector.
* Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
