We are currently recruiting Behaviour Mentors to join a number of secondary schools across Daventry from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are committed to making a lasting impact on students' behaviour, attitudes to learning, and overall wellbeing.
Role Overview
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who may be struggling to manage their behaviour or engage fully in their education. Your role will involve supporting students through targeted interventions, mentoring, and consistent guidance, helping them develop positive coping strategies and make more constructive choices in school.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions focused on behaviour and self-regulation
2. Support students with behavioural needs to re-engage with learning
3. Work alongside the behaviour and pastoral teams to implement support plans and strategies
4. Build strong, trusted relationships with students to help them feel supported and understood
5. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of behaviour and interventions
6. Support classroom staff in managing behaviour and promoting a calm learning environment
7. Supervise students in reflection or internal exclusion rooms, ensuring clear expectations are set
8. Promote a culture of respect, resilience, and personal responsibility
Ideal Candidate
9. Previous experience working with young people in schools, youth services, or alternative education settings
10. Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
11. Ability to de-escalate challenging situations and promote positive choices
12. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
13. Resilient, patient, and able to remain professional under pressure
14. Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to student wellbeing
15. A genuine desire to support and motivate young people to succeed
