About the Role
As an SEN Specialist TA, you will work closely with children who have diverse and often complex needs, providing bespoke lessons and interventions designed to address their unique challenges. Your role will focus on creating a safe, nurturing learning environment that fosters both academic progress and emotional well-being.
This flexible part-time position allows you to choose hours that suit your schedule, whether in the mornings, afternoons, or evenings.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one tutoring and support to SEN children, ensuring lessons are tailored to their individual needs.
Use creative and adaptive teaching strategies to engage students and address their learning barriers.
Track progress and provide regular updates to parents, guardians, and relevant stakeholders.
Build a trusting and supportive relationship with students to help them feel confident and motivated.
Collaborate with families and professionals to ensure continuity of care and consistent progress.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience working one-to-one with SEN children.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
Desired Qualities
Experience teaching Maths and/or English, ideally at KS2-KS4 levels.
PGCE in Maths or English, QTS, or a recognised teaching qualification.
ABA experience (Applied Behaviour Analysis).
A passion for working with SEN children and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for them.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage students and collaborate effectively with families.
