A vacancy has arisen for a Sergeant OR6 AIR & SPACE OPS Ops to serve as SNCO APPRENTICESHIP ASSESSOR 1 at RAF Shawbury on FTRS (LC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 02/02/2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status). The A&SO Apprenticeship Centre South is based at RAF Shawbury and is responsible for the delivery and administration of the Level 5 Air Traffic Controller apprenticeship to all new Direct Entry SNCO and Officers in the Air Operations (Control) and Air Traffic & Weapons Control specialisations. The post is parented by RAF Shawbury, but CoC is held by RAF High Wycombe. With the implementation of new equipment across the profession, the centre will be responsible for ensuring that the apprenticeship maintains being fit for purpose and future proof. SNCO Apprenticeship Assessor will be responsible for: Ensure efficient, timely and safe execution of all tasks including the supervision and management of Centre Staff and Phase 2 trainees. Delivery of all administrative and educational material required to meet the apprenticeship standard. Delivery of the Level 5 standard to meet new Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education guidelines. Carrying out the duties of an assessor in accordance with the A&SO Apprenticeship Centre South Policies and Procedures Manual and the RAF Apprenticeship Management Team (AMT) Manual. Assist in maintaining Approved Centre Status, aligned to Awarding Body’s specifications and RAF AMT Policy, ensuring all procedures conform to Ofsted standards. Assist in Maintaining the Centre Quality Improvement Plan and Self-Assessment Report in liaison with the AMT and DCASO. Implement and adhere to No. 22 Gp policies and procedures in accordance with the AP. Attend all meetings when requested to do so and cover in the absence of the Centre Manager. Compiling and distributing agendas and minutes for Centre Meetings in the absence of the Office Manager.
