Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a unique opportunity to shape the architecture of an end-to-end automation system that will make advanced cell therapies more accessible to patients worldwide.
Responsibilities include:
* Defining, decomposing, and managing system and product-level requirements with a focus on traceability and interface management across the development lifecycle.
* Leading structured requirements processes from capturing user needs to verification and validation.
* Identifying key technical risks, trade-offs, and interdependencies.
* Driving the adoption of tools and practices supporting compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
* Producing robust technical documentation to maintain system-level traceability and alignment.
* Facilitating complex, cross-functional decision-making processes, aligning stakeholders around shared goals, and tracking critical decisions.
* Translating customer needs into engineering requirements and developing systems that meet real-world use cases.
* Collaborating across engineering, biology, product, and manufacturing teams to ensure technical cohesion and alignment.
Qualifications:
* A strong academic background in Engineering, gained either by degree or vocational route.
* Proven experience developing and delivering products into manufacture.
* Expertise in establishing and managing structured requirements hierarchies using tools like DOORS, Jama, or equivalent.
* Understanding of rapid development cycles.
* Knowledge of product development and manufacturing processes.
* Ability to generate clear visualisations of quantitative data.
* Creative and critical thinking skills.
* Ability to manage complex design trade-offs.
* Systems engineering, requirements management, decision analysis, or operations research education preferred.
* Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, ideally within a factory automation or pharmaceutical setting.
This is a full-time on-site position at our campus in Melbourn.
