Following the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the Sizewell C Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. Once completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, supporting Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050 with the help of renewables.
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Conventional Islands - Balance of Plant (BOP) delivery programme.
Conventional Islands - Balance of Plant Function
This function oversees all activities associated with the delivery of engineering contracts up to the value of £100m, ensuring resources meet business and technical requirements and are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The CI - BOP Programme is divided into three sub-programmes: CI, HSK (Heat Sink), and BOP.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will work closely with the Sizewell C supply chain team, Responsible Designer (RD), quality team, and suppliers to prepare for and execute the delivery phase of the project. Your focus will be on the CI - BOP delivery programme.
The Role
In this role, you'll lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team and oversee the end-to-end delivery of critical systems, structures, and components across several buildings and contracts within the BOP area. From engineering through to commissioning, you'll ensure excellence at every stage by:
* Leading project managers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve seamless delivery.
* Owning budgets, schedules, risk management, and quality assurance.
* Coordinating with stakeholders to manage complex interfaces.
* Applying technical expertise and leadership to uphold standards of execution and compliance.
About You
You are an experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex projects from concept to completion. You have experience in managing projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated industry.
Qualifications & Skills
* Background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems, or civil engineering within large-scale industrial environments.
* Proven success in coordinating multi-disciplinary design and procurement activities, driving teams to meet deadlines.
* Strong understanding of managing interfaces between different scope areas in major projects.
* Experience in project management or engineering, covering the full lifecycle from concept to handover.
* Effective communicator, capable of engaging in client-facing and contractor-facing scenarios.
* Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities.
Job Details
Location: Bristol (hybrid working arrangements)
Employment basis: Permanent, full-time
Working pattern: Office-based with support for hybrid working. Attendance in person is required approximately 3 days per week, with flexibility based on team or project needs.
