Hays are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a highly respected and long-established accountancy firm in Cambridge, who are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive, well-established team, delivering high-quality accounting and financial services to a diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage day-to-day client work, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
2. Review and oversee work prepared by junior colleagues, maintaining high standards and identifying areas for improvement.
3. Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their development and ensuring quality output.
4. Prepare accounts and tax documentation for submission to HMRC within deadlines.
5. Build strong client relationships, handling queries with professionalism and care to promote loyalty.
6. Ensure all client documentation is received efficiently to meet statutory requirements.
7. Represent the firm with professionalism in conduct, communication, and appearance.
8. Plan and prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines and ensure smooth sign-off processes.
About You
9. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or AAT).
10. Proven experience in a senior role within an accountancy practice.
11. Strong technical knowledge combined with excellent organisational skills.
12. Confident communicator with the ability to mentor and support junior colleagues.
13. Client-focused, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and service delivery.
