Job Description
3 Month Contract With A Local Authority


Job Purpose

To support the Council in meeting its statutory duties under Part 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014 by overseeing and actively contributing to the development of high-quality, timely Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

The role will provide efficient project and administrative support across the SEND service, ensuring the effective coordination, collation, and auditing of information, alongside maintaining clear communication with stakeholders to support the delivery of statutory requirements.





Key Responsibilities

* Support the coordination and delivery of EHCP processes to ensure compliance with statutory timelines and quality standards.

* Collate, track, and manage documentation and professional advice required for EHCP assessments and reviews.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with data protection and corporate policies.

* Act as a key point of contact for internal teams, schools, health professionals, and families, ensuring clear and timely communication.

* Monitor casework progress and provide regular updates, highlighting risks or delays to managers.

* Assist in quality assurance and auditing of EHCPs to ensure consistency and compliance with statutory requirements.

* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the SEND service, including process reviews and data analysis.

* Prepare reports, performance data, and documentation to support service delivery and inspections.

* Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient systems and processes.

* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with council policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.




Requirements

* Experience in an administrative, project support, or coordination role, ideally within a local authority or education/SEND setting.

* Understanding of SEND processes and legislation, particularly EHCPs and statutory timelines (desirable).

* Experience of working with complex information and maintaining accurate records.

* Experience of stakeholder communication across multiple agencies.

* Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* High attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.

* Ability to analyse information and support auditing and quality assurance processes.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems.

* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
